Just me and my wreaths...

Obsession is a funny thing y'all. You see, I'm a creature of habit. Once I find something I like, I drink it/eat it/listen to it/watch it/craft it/etc. repeatedly. For days. Months. Years. I become obsessed. And well I will officially admit I am addicted to wreaths: all types, shapes, sizes, seasons, themes. This blog was inspired by a spur of the moment stop at a store back home that sales all types of stuff like flowers, ribbons, home decor, more flowers, you know, stuff to make wreaths with. Well they had this ADORABLE stuffed (don't worry!) fake squirrel. So my first thought was "OH MY! He's so cute!" Second thought: "I could totally put him in a wreath!" Well I thought it'd be funny to text a photo of said squirrel to my roommate and tell him he was coming home with me. In a nanosecond, there was a reply of "I'm moving out if you bring that home!" Sadly, I had to leave Fred the squirrel at the store (Yes, I named him....) BUT ALAS, I was able to come home with the makings of yet another wreath!!! He still doesn't know. Lucky for me, he was playing on his laptop when I brought the bag in from the car. I'm sneaky like that.

RIP FRED. I miss him so. I hope he goes to a good home!

So let's take a tour of my wreaths! First up, holidays and seasons:

And here are the makings of my latest in honor of my favorite NFL team:
WHO DAT!

And lastly, here is a super cute wreath I just made for my roommate's mom for her birthday! I am so excited how well this turned out. These wreaths are super easy to make. You need 4 half yards of fabric, wreath (the largest straw wreath they have, 16" I believe, and leave the plastic on it!), scissors and some creativity! I love using the fabric squares at Joann's and you need to get 8 of them to have enough fabric strips. You cut your total of 2 yards of fabric into 1-2 inch wide strips and tie them alternately around the wreath.

Then customize accordingly! I just could not pass up this flamingo! His mother loves all things beach/water/scuba so this was right up her alley. I picked him up at Hobby Lobby and attached him with some bright colored tulle. I also added these adorable margarita ornaments I picked up back at the after-Christmas sale at Garden Ridge. That's a great time to think of things you can pick up on sale for wreaths through the year since they have some many themes for their Christmas trees.

Here's the completed project:

Whew! I'm worn out. Just gathering pictures of all these wreaths was a job in itself and I'm pretty sure there might be some tucked back in a closet or two I missed.... Well as they say y'all, admitting you have a problem is the first step. CHECK. Now, if you need me the rest of the day, I'll be here drinking my diet coke and making my Who Dat wreath....

Have a blessed Sunday y'all!
