It was a great weekend full of shopping, eating, shopping, eating some more, cooking for Easter dinner, shopping, a little bit of sleep, church, and yet again more eating! This beauty of a cake which I have decided to lovingly refer to as Jenny's Praline Bundt cake took the majority of the weekend to make but goodness gracious, it was worth all the time and effort.
I just adore these kiddos and they sure do love their Aunt Jenny! It was a wonderful weekend and I'm truly blessed.
Alas, it was time to take down my cute Easter decor once I arrived home. I sure am going to miss the cute bunny on the mantel. What inspired this updated spring decor were these adorable yellow and white gingham pillows I got at Ross. And y'all get this: a two pack of pillows for $16!
I added a touch of yellow to the entertainment center by adding these yellow flowers to the vase that's always there:
Continuing with the splashes of yellow to make the room bright and cheery, I placed this lemon and lime swag I have into this metal container to place on the end table.
I like to call this the reading nook, all spruced up and cheery!
Now, onto the mantel. I left most of the decor up from the Easter mantel but took out the pink flowers and bunny. I added some fruit to the apothecary jars and moved over a flower arrangement from the Easter table and DONE! I think it's super cute!
I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of obsessed with the table I came up with. I had purchased a remnant of yellow and white toile years back and cut a square to use as a table topper and the rest I cut into napkins. I added these cute magnolia napkin rings to them:
I left the grapevine and green chargers from the Easter table and added two new plates on top to complete the table setting!
Isn't it just adorable? And you want to know something funny? The "dinner" plates are paper LOL! Oh well, they match and I love the pattern on the table. Here's the entire table:
And lastly, I spruced up the outside too because it's a pet peeve of mine to keep up decorations past the holiday. Bye bye cute bunny burlap wreath :( And well, since it's opening week for MLB, I busted out the Texas Rangers wreath I made last year:
Next, time to change the doormat. I think this is quite possibly the cutest one I own. I mean, it says "y'all" y'all!!! AND I got it at Walmart of all places. And everything together:
I'm not going to lie, they won the season home opener today out at the Ballpark and I'm pretty sure my cute decor was good luck. ;)
That's it for now. I'm super excited for the next post. This one wasn't to much of a change except for taking away Easter decor. In May once I get back from my gazillion work trips, I'll change everything over to my "Americana" decor. Ohmygoodness y'all, it's so cute! Until then, here's hoping you have a great April. Kick back, enjoy the nice weather and enjoy some sweet tea!
