Spring has Sprung!

Hey y'all!

Well the good times surely did roll this week! Fat Tuesday, subsequent Girls' Night and then self-induced chocolate Valentine's day coma have killed my diet this week. So what better way to work off those calories than to take down all the Mardi Gras decorations and change seasons! Much less, I think I'm coming down with a cold but decorating makes me happy so I'm pushing through my sickness!

First things first, my cute new chair! I fully blame my mother for this and she'll be receiving the bill for said chair. I mean, that's fair and all since it was her idea, right? ;) She loved how I had the other corner of the living room decorated which usually goes where the Christmas/Mardi Grad tree is. So when the tree came down, I had a bare spot that she suggested a new chair for. I've been searching long and hard and finally found one I absolutely ADORE! Plus, it was in my price range. Thank you tax refund!

I had this table out in the storage closet and dusted it off, added some magazine, books, floral arrangement and a lamp and viola! Can we please discuss how cute this lamp shade is? I mean, it was $5.99 at Ross AND it's leopard print. I bought two.... Oh, and threw in a leopard print suitcase. I think I might need help.... This container y'all will see a lot. It was the base of the centerpiece on the Mardi Gras table. I just changed out the flowers and it adds a nice spring touch to the end table.

Now onto the springtime mantel! First things first, how cute is this bunny?

I had this chickenwire-esque ribbon and used it as a base and added some flowers, greenery, candles and a wreath above. I think it turned out adorable!

I threw together this table that's surprisingly cute! I really wanted to use these sweet little bowls with birdies on them. I have these grapevine chargers that I thought they kind of look like bird nests. I tied it all together with one of my favorite floral arrangements and I think it turned out well. You can't tell much in the picture but the bowls are the prettiest shade of robin's egg blue!

For the buffet table, I just had to use the other leopard print shade I bought. I'll put the red one back out later! Leopard print is totally springlike, no? :) I added this arrangement to bring in some springy-ness. Why isn't that a word? It's fun to say!

So adding spring touches doesn't just apply to the living room and dining room around here. I like to add bright, cheery colors to my room and bathroom as well. I changed out duvets from leopard print to this adorable pink and cream gingham from Ikea!

I also swapped out my brown shower curtain for this sweet shabby chic one I save for spring and summer!

Well, now I'm officially exhausted and miserable thanks to this stuffy nose. I have never heard so much sneezing, coughing, and snotty noses as I did today at work so the outlook isn't sounding good. But, at least now I can curl up on the couch or in bed and dream of springtime and warmer weather! Y'all have a blessed weekend!

PS, the outside still has to be decorated so I'll post that once I find the energy to get back up and at it again!
