As many of y'all know, I was born in Louisiana but was blessed to have grown up in Arkansas. Woo Pig Sooie! I do however still love some good ol' Cajun food, the fact hardly any of my friends can understand my dad's accent, and MARDI GRAS! Seeing as how the celebration actually starts in January, years ago I came up with the idea to leave my Christmas tree up and just make it a Mardi Gras tree! Trees are too pretty to put away so quickly anyway. I have outdone myself on this year's tree thanks to some after-Christmas sales and the find of this new ribbon:
Mrs. Cindy introduced me to a wonderful new home interior store on I-20 there in Canton. It's AMAZING and they have any color/style of mesh ribbon Jenny's heart desires! Bless the Paul Michael Company! I also got this cute ornament there too:
The tree top is super fun this year thanks to some fun additions from the JoAnn after-Christmas sale:
And here's the completed masterpiece!
Well, y'all know I can't just stop there! Any holiday/seasonal decor must always include a mantel and tablescape. Go big or go home right?
Here are pics of the mantel:
I dug around the house and found some festive items to spruce up the end table in the living room as well!
My "Christmas" curtains in the living room had to go too. I adored the color and fabric of these curtains from IKEA and the price was right. However, they were a tad too short for our 10' ceilings so using some of my favorite leopard ribbon, I spruced them up. I cannot tell you how excited I am about them! I think they turned out adorable!!!
And finally, here's the completed living room!
Now onto the dining room! Last year's table was super fancy but I changed it up this year. I really liked the runner and napkins from the NYE table so I just added some more festive flowers to the centerpiece and then my favorite napkin rings!
Well, that's a wrap! Now I get to enjoy all the festive decor till Fat Tuesday! Until then, I'm kicking back with a Hurricane in my glass straight from Pat O' Brien's and baking some cookies with my new cookie cutter! Laissez les bons temps rouler y'all!
Hey Jenny!!
