Have a sparkling New Year's everyone!

Bless my roommate's heart!

This post requires a tad bit of a back story. You see, I have this amazing dining table that we rarely eat at except for special occasions. It's my pride and joy! I love nothing more than coming up with new table settings and centerpieces. Well, before my parents left my house from celebrating Christmas here in Texas, I took down some unnecessary Christmas decor to send home with them. As you'll soon tell in my future posts, storage is at a premium around here. Blame the fancy dining table! Well it was after Christmas so I started taking apart the Christmas dining table and working on my New Year's table. Keep in mind I was sick and running a fever but I mean, it had to be done. There's not a lot of time between Christmas and New Year's just saying. Well as I'm running around trying to come up with a table theme, my roommate, bless him, says "I never knew one had to have a 'New Year's table' until I met Jenny...." He's a trooper! He puts up with all my crazy ideas. For instance, the several Target stores I drug him to in order to find napkins for said table. I fell in love with the table runner I got on clearance at Target and then it hit me! It's only $4 so why not buy another runner and make my own napkins! This is my roommate helping me cut the napkins!

Again, bless him for putting up with me!

Here's the table setting with the finished napkins:

For the centerpiece, I had these pretty flowers I got on clearance at Joann's and I added some sparkly gold Christmas balls. Bling as my mother would say!

Also, I had these silver candlesticks for ages, back from my college days. A little gold spray paint and some spiffy $1.29 candles from Walmart and there ya go! I thought it added a nice charm to the table, no?

For a little added sparkle, I have this pretty wreath I always find a hard time finding what to do with. I placed it around a large candle on the buffet table! Easy enough!

And lastly, here's the entire table! I love it!!! It'll be in place for another week or two till it's time to bust out the Mardi Gras table! I just adore decorating for Mardi Gras so stay tuned!!!

Hope y'all enjoyed the post! I wish each and everyone one of you a very blessed  and Happy New Year! YAY for 2013 and don't forget to eat your black eyed peas for good luck! Y'all still have a few more hours!

  1. Love it-- you know I am the Martha Stewart of the common folk! You have inspired me to get up and try to set up some nice spots in my house in spite of the hordes of males running through my house. :)
